Salifu describes the daily temptations in a spiritual perspective as a battle that a Christian faces in his daily life. In a way, he foresees what is happening in the world today in all its intensity with Covid-19. He approaches human suffering as an opportunity for the devil to infiltrate and cast doubt on God’s love and lordship. To him, the Enlightenment and the advances of science have left in a background the perception of a reality where there are demonic powers on duty to try to co-opt Christian souls. Among the Christian’s defenses are the means of grace, a life of prayer and the joy of being in a spiritual battle.
